Facebook Avatar
Avatars are quite easy to make and you will be able to use your new “self” on Facebook, but also on Twitter or Instagram. Facebook allows you to personalize a lot of the Avatar’s features, like facial features, but also clothes worn. This is something very similar to the very popular Bitmoji on Snapchat. Start by opening the Facebook app on your mobile device. While these steps are done on an Android device, the experience is virtually the same on iOS. Tap the menu button (the three lines).
On the next screen, tap Avatars.
This is where the real fun starts. It will prompt you to select a skin tone as close to your own as possible. Once you’re done, tap Next.
After that, on the next page, you can start going through all the options yourself. However, be warned — there are literally dozens of them available. The Facebook app offers a little help in the presence of a mirror camera you can use to better adjust your likeness. To open it, tap the mirror symbol on the top right side of the screen.
This will open a camera window and will make things a little bit easier.
Lots of Options
From this point, though, it is all down to your patience and artistry. Things as diverse as eye or eyebrow shape can be edited and you can even work on your body shape with one tap. As expected, the app also includes a number of outfits you can dress your avatar in.
Once you’re happy with the results, click the Done button. Once you save the avatar, you will go through a couple of information screens, after which you will return to its main page. From this page, you can either share your avatar or one of the stickers that it comes with.
Facebook Avatars are doing a good job of making the experience of using the social media service more colorful and more fun. And they’re certain to be very popular with users.
